If the directions seem vague, it is because they are. The purpose of this site is not to provide a step by step, turn by turn instructional manual to all of my secret spots in the Gunnison valley. I hope to provide enough context to intrigue you, but not so much that you could post it on ExploreColorado.com or Let'sHikeinaLine.net.

If you truly wanted to, with a little deductive reasoning and your own map, you could find these places easily enough. There is a part of me that deeply wants to protect the sanctity of the silent and barely utilized. There is another part of me that wants to bare my soul and share the perspective and joy that can only come from being far away from everyone and everything. This blog seeks to find the balance. 

 

 To that end, I've arranged the posts here by area. Gunnison County is 80% public lands, there is plenty of room and enough open space to keep one regular, full time office working lady occupied for some time. Just don't tell anyone...
